Since 1972, Bobbie’s Cafe has been serving tasty homestyle food with a side of hospitality to San Antonio. This year, Bobbie’s Cafe is celebrating its 50th anniversary and we’re here to tell you why it’s a Southside staple.
Located on South Flores, Bobbie’s Cafe truly has something for everyone. Bobbie's serves breakfast all day, but also offers juicy cheeseburgers, hand-battered onion rings, and made from scratch meatloaf!
Greg Ferris and his wife Ana are fourth-generation owners of Bobbie’s Cafe. Ferris said after being in the neighborhood for more than thirty years, they’re familiar with customers.
“A lot of our wait staff already know what our customers are going to order,” Ferris said. “We say, ‘you come in more than two times and you’re family.’”
Alongside friendly and attentive staff, walking inside Bobbie’s Cafe feels like home. Having a comfortable and welcoming environment is something Ferris said is essential to Bobbie's.
In addition to traditional homestyle food, also Bobbie’s Cafe serves “homestyle, Tex-Mex" enchiladas, seafood, and breakfast tacos. Bobbie’s even got nominated for best American cuisine by San Antonio Mag!
Bobbie’s Cafe is so popular that there’s usually a wait time on the weekends. But don’t worry! Check-in in person and Bobbie’s will send you a text when your table is ready. Trust us, the experience is worth the wait.
“I dare you to come try us,” Ferris said. “It’s way better than any large chain restaurant.”
