Authentic Asian cuisine meets Texas BBQ... to-go!

Delicious brisket, crunchy egg rolls and fresh fried rice are just some of the many items on the menu at The Smokin' Wok, an asian food truck in San Antonio, TX.

Owner Sharon Pressnell said the food truck is a combination of the best of Chinese and Korean cuisine with a Texas spin. Pressnell owns The Smokin' Wok with her husband Shaun, who has over 20 years of experience in Asian cuisine.

The Smokin' Wok has unique menu items like bulgogi steak tacos topped with a smoky stir fry complemented by steamed rice and an egg roll – to classics like orange chicken. But even The Smokin' Wok's more traditional food items are elevated with authenticity.

Pressnell dreamt of starting a food truck for years and is grateful for the opportunity to have started on the city’s Southside, right off highway 410.

“The (Southside) is close to home and I think it’s a great place to give a little more variety to,” Pressnell said.

Despite being a smaller business, Pressnell said The Smokin' Wok prioritizes quality and affordability.

“We’re trying to do things right,” Presnell said. “We haven’t increased our prices all year even though the cost of everything has increased for us. We’re trying to keep it a point where families can still enjoy it.”

The Smokin' Wok is customer friendly, with a lot of dishes being customizable. If you don’t like too much heat, order the bulgogi steak and ask for it less spicy. If you’re looking for some kick, order the zesty honey sriracha chicken.

Make sure to add an order of crispy spring rolls to accompany your meal! If you’re still craving something, try The Smokin' Wok’s cherry cheesecake wontons. This seasonal menu item is the perfect finishing touch for your savory meal.

“I would challenge anyone who hasn’t been by to stop by and let me know your thoughts,” Pressnell said. “Good or bad, we love the feedback.”
